Dinanath Pathy Kala Samman & Memorial Lecture
“The 3rd Dinanath Pathy Kala Samman” & “The 1st Dinanath Pathy Memorial Lecture” has been held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bhubaneswar in the evening of 20th May, 2023 in the presence of many dignitaries, writers, lovers of literature and media persons. This was organized by Ketaki Foundation Trust.
The 3rd Dinanath Pathy Kala Samman was conferred on Smt. Sushama Mohapatra from Paralakhemundi, for her lifelong contribution to the dying art forms like Anasara Pati, Ganjappa & Parasurama Handi Painting. She carried forward this tradition of art inspired by her late husband Prakash Mohapatra who was a well-known artist practicing these unique artforms. Dr. Nivedita Mohanty, noted historian & author, was the Chief Guest. Prof. Jatindra Kumar Nayak, eminent writer & translator, delivered the 1st Dinanath Pathy Memorial Lecture. His discourse touching the depths of the life and works of Late Dr. Pathy was highly appreciated by the audience. He also asserted the importance of research and promotion of Odia language and culture. Dinanath Pathy was a renaissance man – a poet, painter, art historian, novelist, curator, scholar and educator. His cultural roots in his native Odisha are very deep. His knowledge of paintings, classical, popular and tribal art forms was comprehensive. Eminent Painter & Printmaker, Sri Ramahari Jena, presided over the function. Ketaki Foundation Trust intends to preserve, promote and publish art, culture and literature. Odisha’s literature is replete with exceptional works done by well-known luminaries and unsung individuals as well. The Trust aspires to support and promote exemplary oeuvres through publications and other supportive activities and make a significant contribution to the society at large. To further its aims and objectivities the trust has successfully executed several projects in diverse fields.
